Architecture is something everyone can appreciate; I certainly do. What’s your favourite style? My favourite style of architecture is, Art Deco. The beauty to me in Art Deco is the designers use of shape, material and colour, they design things to look futuristic.

Exterior architectural photography is much simpler to do than capturing the interior. When photographing the exterior of a building, it’s just a matter of waiting for the right light to accentuate the shape and the details of the building. Interior architectural photography is trickier; it takes a lot of lighting equipment, and the knowledge of knowing how to use that lighting to make the photograph look like it was lit with available, or natural, light.

For residential photography, I create HDR (high-dynamic-range) photographs because they have greater amounts of detail in the shadows and highlights, bringing out all the qualities in the angles and the design of the architecture.
